Abbey-Kuehnle
Park – Named in
memory of two rescue workers who perished in the flood of 1972, this park is
conveniently located next to
Erwin
Valley
Elementary school
on Beartown Road. This park offers four lighted tennis courts, a practice wall, a lighted full
basketball court, a picnic pavilion and play equipment for young school-aged
children.
Cooper’s
Plains Park -
This small pocket park offers families with small children and NBA hopefuls a
great place to spend some time. The
Town recently installed a play structure appropriate for early school-aged
children. A lighted, full sized basketball court occupies the other side of this
half acre park. A picnic table and
bench offer a place to rest and enjoy a snack after a morning of exercise and
fun.
Craig
Park - Located in the
Village
of
Painted Post, this park is named after former village mayor Charles Craig. Craig Park has numerous open air picnic
tables and grills and a large pavilion. Basketball,
tennis, a sand volleyball court and a skateboard park make this park fun for the
whole family. A paved linear jogging and exercise trail connects Craig Park to
neighborhoods in Painted Post and Riverside. The pavilion area can be
reserved for group events by calling the Village Clerk at 962-4605.
No glass containers are allowed.
Hodgman
Park – Named after an Erwin settler who operated Hodgman's Mill near this
site,
Hodgman
Park
is located in the Village
of
Painted Post just off West Water Street. Here, the Town of Erwin
maintains the basketball courts, box lacrosse facilities, playground area and
picnic pavilion. The pavilion can be
reserved by calling the Town on 962-7021.
Hodgman
Park is also the location of the annual Colonial Days celebration.
Kinsella
Park - Whether your thing is sports, family picnics or
nature exploration, Kinsella
Park
is the place to be! Just off
Canada Road
you’ll find Small Fry Football, Little League Baseball and Cinderella
Softball. Closer to the river, other
amenities include a picnic pavilion, playground, soccer/baseball field, boat
launch, shaded open picnic area with charcoal grills and nature trail. The
picnic pavilion and restroom facilities can be reserved for group activities by
calling the Town on 962-7021. The
boat launch at Kinsella
Park
is one of more than a dozen within the Chemung River Watershed.
For more information about how to safely access the river, visit the

Pioneer
Park – Tucked
in at the end of Pioneer Road
in Long Acres, this quiet gem of a park is a nice place for small groups with
young children to gather. Here, kids
can brush up their basketball skills on the half court or explore both new and
vintage playground equipment.
Scudder-Weber
Park - Tucked in behind the apartments off Creekside Drive, this park offers a full basketball court, a playground full of well
maintained, vintage play structures, a picnic table and lots of room for a good
old fashioned game of tag.
Twin
Valley –
Located north of the intersection of Route 417 and Indian Hills Road, this park offers vintage play equipment, a shaded picnic table with charcoal
grill and a field large enough for a pick-up game of soccer or football with
friends.
Beartown
Park
-
Facilities
include a playing field and a few playing structures.
First Responders Honor Park
The Tri-County First Responders Honor Park is a tribute to police officers, firefighters, EMTs and rescue personnel in Steuben, Chemung and Schuyler counties. The honor park is located near the corner of
South Hamilton Street and Forest Drive in the Gang Mills area. The park features four honor beds - one each for fire, police, medical and rescue.
